The Pentair IntelliVibe Micro 602279 is the smallest fixture in Pentair's IntelliVibe pool lighting system: a 2-inch diameter, 12-watt RGBW LED light supplied with a 100-foot cable. It is a nicheless light. A threaded adapter screws it into a standard 1-1/2 inch return fitting, so it can go into pools, spas, sun shelves and steps without a conventional light niche. Pentair also notes it can be retrofitted into ColorVision bubblers.

Light output is full RGBW: Pentair quotes millions of colors, any shade of white from cool to warm, twelve color-changing light shows and dimming, all set from the Pentair Pool app. Pentair's specification tables rate the Micro at 12 volts and 12 watts. In practice it is powered through the IntelliVibe system, where a PS300 safety isolation transformer (P/N 619963) supplies 14 VAC to the IntelliVibe Controller (P/N 602260), which drives up to four independent light zones at 100 W per output and 200 W total. That works out to a maximum of eight Micro lights per output and sixteen per controller.

This is important to plan for: the IntelliVibe Micro only operates as part of the IntelliVibe system. Pentair states that the IntelliVibe Controller and an IntelliCenter Automation System are required, and that IntelliVibe lights are not backward compatible with GloBrite, MicroBrite or IntelliBrite lights or controllers. The controller, transformer, automation system, junction boxes and fittings are all sold separately. Pentair's install guide calls for a minimum of 4 inches of water above the light when it is installed vertically, and the light uses a three-conductor cable (black and white for power, green for communication).

Pentair's warranty for the IntelliVibe system is two years parts and labor with product registration, extended to three years when the lights are bundled with a Pentair pump and filter.
