The Pentair EasyTouch 520545 8SC-IC40 is the eight-function, salt-equipped EasyTouch system for a pool and spa sharing one set of equipment. It controls the filter pump plus seven auxiliary circuits, and adds eight feature circuits and an auxiliary-extra circuit on top for sixteen controllable functions in total. Decoding the model name helps: the 8 is the relay count, SC means salt chlorine generator integration with the transformer factory-fitted, and IC40 is the cell that ships with it.

The system ships in an EasyTouch Load Center — the enclosure with a built-in 120/240 VAC 150 A circuit breaker base with space for ten one-inch breakers. Note that Pentair supplies the breaker base but the circuit breakers themselves are field-supplied by the installer. Salt chlorination is genuinely included: the IntelliChlor transformer is built into the Load Center and the IntelliChlor IC40 cell (P/N 520555) ships with the system, rated for pools up to 40,000 gallons. Two CVA-24T motorised valve actuators (P/N 263045) are included for the intake and return diverters, along with water and air temperature sensors on 25-foot cables.

EasyTouch has no built-in Wi-Fi or app control. The system is ScreenLogic2-compatible, but the ScreenLogic2 Interface is a separate purchase — 522104 as a bundle, 520500 as the protocol adapter alone, or 520639 as the high-powered wireless connection kit. No indoor control panel, wireless panel or spa-side remote is included either. Pentair discontinued the entire EasyTouch line on 29 September 2023 and recommends the IntelliCenter Control System as the replacement; the direct successor for this configuration is 521903. Pentair has stated that discontinued products continue to be supported and that legacy systems will be replaced under warranty with comparable equipment while parts remain available.

This is the largest salt-equipped EasyTouch configuration and suits a substantial pool and spa on shared equipment. Because the line is discontinued, specify it where matching or servicing an existing EasyTouch installation — for a new build, the IntelliCenter equivalents offer current support and app control as standard.
