The Pentair EasyTouch 520543 4SC-IC40 is the four-function salt-equipped EasyTouch system for a pool and spa on shared equipment. It controls the filter pump plus three auxiliary circuits, with eight feature circuits and an auxiliary-extra circuit available on top for twelve controllable functions in total, and automates the valve changeover between the two bodies of water. In the EasyTouch naming, the 4 is the relay count, SC means salt chlorine generator integration with the transformer fitted, and IC40 is the cell supplied.

The system ships in an EasyTouch Load Center with a built-in 120/240 VAC 150 A circuit breaker base and room for ten one-inch breakers — the breakers are field-supplied by the installer. Salt chlorination is included in full: the IntelliChlor transformer is factory-built into the Load Center and the IntelliChlor IC40 cell (P/N 520555) ships with the system, rated to 40,000 gallons. Two CVA-24T motorised valve actuators (P/N 263045) are supplied for the intake and return diverters, along with water and air temperature sensors on 25-foot cables.

EasyTouch has no built-in Wi-Fi or app control. The system is ScreenLogic2-compatible but the interface is a separate purchase (522104, 520500 or 520639), and no indoor panel, wireless panel or spa-side remote is included. Pentair discontinued the EasyTouch line on 29 September 2023, recommending the IntelliCenter Control System as the replacement; the direct successor for this configuration is 521906. There is also no circuit-expansion enclosure for EasyTouch — the i5x and i10x expansion kits are IntelliTouch-only — so the four relays plus optional two-speed pump and 3 HP power relays are the practical ceiling.

A straightforward pool and spa system where three auxiliary circuits genuinely cover the equipment and salt chlorination is wanted from the start. Since the line is discontinued and EasyTouch cannot be expanded with additional circuit enclosures, check the circuit count carefully against the pad before specifying.
