The Pentair EasyTouch 520542 4SC-IC20 is the entry-level salt-equipped EasyTouch system for a pool and spa on shared equipment. It controls the filter pump plus three auxiliary circuits, with eight feature circuits and an auxiliary-extra circuit available on top for twelve controllable functions in total, and automates the changeover between pool and spa.

The one detail that separates this from its 520543 sibling is the cell size. This system ships the IntelliChlor IC20 (P/N 520554), rated for pools up to 20,000 gallons at roughly 0.70 lb of chlorine per 24 hours — half the capacity of the IC40 in the 520543. Sizing the cell to the pool matters: an undersized cell runs at high output for long periods and wears out faster. Everything else matches — an EasyTouch Load Center with a built-in 120/240 VAC 150 A circuit breaker base (breakers field-supplied), the IntelliChlor transformer factory-built into the enclosure, two CVA-24T motorised valve actuators (P/N 263045) for the intake and return diverters, and water and air temperature sensors on 25-foot cables.

EasyTouch has no built-in Wi-Fi or app control. ScreenLogic2 is compatible but sold separately (522104, 520500 or 520639), and no indoor panel, wireless panel or spa-side remote is included. Pentair discontinued the EasyTouch line on 29 September 2023 and recommends the IntelliCenter Control System as the replacement; for this configuration Pentair maps the successor as 521907 paired with an IntelliChlor IC20 cell. There is no circuit-expansion enclosure for EasyTouch, so the relay count is effectively fixed at specification time.

Suited to a smaller pool and spa — check the water volume against the IC20's 20,000-gallon rating before ordering, because the larger IC40 version of this same system is the better choice above that. As a discontinued line, it is best specified for matching or servicing existing EasyTouch installations.
