The AquaCal SQ200ARDSBPA HeatWave SuperQuiet Pool Heat Pump delivers 138,000 BTU at a COP of 6.1, with both heating and cooling from a single reversible unit. AquaCal rates its operating cost at roughly 25% of gas heating.
The defining feature is ICEBREAKER hot gas defrost. A conventional heat pump stops producing heat when it ices up and sheds accumulated warmth to clear the coil. ICEBREAKER instead routes hot refrigerant gas to melt frost, letting the unit keep heating at near-freezing ambient temperatures and extending the usable season well past a standard heat pump.
AquaCal's patented ThermoLink titanium heat exchanger is unaffected by salt or aggressive pool chemistry, and it is unusually easy on hydraulics - adding only 2 PSI of pressure drop at 45 GPM, which matters when pairing with a variable speed pump. Built-in PoolSync WiFi handles remote control and monitoring.
