This is a personality kit, not a complete automation system. Pentair states that an IntelliTouch system requires a Load Center or Power Center, an IntelliTouch Personality Kit, and an Interface. This part number is the personality kit alone. The enclosure is a separate purchase and the kit cannot be installed without one.
The kit supplies the Outdoor Control Panel containing the main controller circuit board and the i5+3 personality board. The i5+3 provides four auxiliary circuits plus filter pump operation, together with the “+3” option that allows a feature circuit to be created for valve actuators without consuming an auxiliary output, plus special light functions for colour lighting. Note the relay difference from the larger kits in this family: the i5+3 kit itself contains no power relays — Pentair's documentation states that five relays are included in the Load Center instead. Two valve actuators are included, along with water and air temperature sensors, a parts bag of relay screws and a label sheet. This is the shared-equipment pool and spa kit; the single-body variant is a different part number, 521223 (i5+3S).
IntelliTouch has no native Wi-Fi or app control. Remote access requires a separately purchased ScreenLogic2 Interface. Pentair discontinued the whole IntelliTouch line on 31 July 2023, recommending the IntelliCenter Control System and IntelliCenter Upgrade Kit as replacements, and has stated that discontinued products remain supported with warranty replacements while parts are available. As with the i9+3, Pentair's documents are inconsistent about whether an indoor control panel or MobileTouch remote is packed inside the kit — confirm before ordering.
