The Pentair IntelliCenter 523964 i5PS is the five-function shared-equipment bundle in Pentair's IntelliCenter range, built for a pool and spa that run on the same pump, filter and heater. It provides a dedicated filter pump circuit plus four auxiliary circuits — enough for a heater, pool and spa lighting and a cleaner or water feature — together with the intake and return valve control that automates the changeover between the two bodies of water.

Like the larger i8PS and i10PS bundles, this one ships in an IntelliCenter Load Center: the enclosure with a built-in circuit breaker subpanel, so the automation and the electrical distribution share one housing at the pad. Salt chlorination is included outright — both the salt chlorine generator transformer and the IntelliChlor Plus40 cell (P/N 523735) are in the box. Plus40 is Pentair's current cell, which replaced the legacy IC40; it is rated for pools to 40,000 gallons. Two IntelliValve valve actuators are supplied, which is the specific difference between this part number and 523967, the otherwise identical i5PS bundle that ships ComPool actuators.

Day-to-day control is through the IntelliCenter outdoor panel with a colour touchscreen, and remotely through the Pentair Pool app. Connectivity is provided by the included 900 MHz high-powered wireless Ethernet link, since the IntelliCenter board itself has no Wi-Fi radio; a hard-wired Cat-5 connection into the main board is the alternative. The system schedules equipment, drives variable-speed pumps, manages heater setpoints and controls colour lighting, and it expands over RS-485 across as many as three enclosures for up to 39 auxiliary circuits should the installation grow.
