It controls a pool and spa running on one pump, filter and heater, providing a dedicated filter pump circuit plus seven auxiliary circuits and automating the intake and return valve changeover between the two bodies of water. This is the part number to specify when the pool already has a sanitiser the owner intends to keep, or when chlorination is being sourced separately.

Worth knowing about the numbering: 521904 sits in Pentair's older 521xxx block but is not superseded. Pentair re-numbered only the salt bundles when the cell changed from IntelliChlor IC40 to IntelliChlor Plus40; the no-salt systems needed no new part number and 521904 remains in the current 2025–2026 Pentair catalogue. It ships in an IntelliCenter Load Center with a built-in 150 A circuit breaker subpanel and five pre-installed high-voltage relays, with the i8PS personality adding three more for eight total.
