The Pentair EasyTouch 520538 is the base four-function EasyTouch system for a pool and spa on shared equipment, supplied without any salt chlorination hardware. It controls the filter pump plus three auxiliary circuits, with eight feature circuits and an auxiliary-extra circuit available for twelve controllable functions in total, and automates the valve changeover between the two bodies of water.

The defining characteristic of this part number is what it leaves out. Pentair files it under the heading EasyTouch Systems Without IntelliChlor Transformer Built-In, and the model description reads “base system - no ICP” — ICP meaning IntelliChlor Power, the salt transformer. So neither the salt transformer nor a salt cell ships with this system. That is the right specification where the pool already has a sanitiser being retained, or where chlorination is being sourced separately — but it is worth understanding that adding IntelliChlor later means fitting the transformer as well as the cell, not just plumbing a cell in.

The system ships in an EasyTouch Load Center with a built-in 120/240 VAC 150 A circuit breaker base and space for ten one-inch breakers; the breakers themselves are field-supplied. Two CVA-24T motorised valve actuators (P/N 263045) are included for the intake and return diverters, along with water and air temperature sensors on 25-foot cables. EasyTouch has no built-in Wi-Fi or app control — ScreenLogic2 is compatible but sold separately (522104, 520500 or 520639), and no indoor panel, wireless panel or spa-side remote is included. Pentair discontinued the line on 29 September 2023 and maps the successor for this system as IntelliCenter 521907, noting the IntelliCenter equivalent adds a relay, easier expansion and two IntelliValve actuators.

The right choice where automation and valve changeover are needed but sanitisation is already handled — an existing chlorinator, a tablet feeder, or a UV or ozone system. Since the line is discontinued and no salt transformer is fitted, plan carefully if IntelliChlor might be wanted later.
