The Pentair Amerlite 78418100 is the 12-volt, 100-watt version of Pentair's long-running Amerlite underwater incandescent pool light, supplied with a 50-foot cord and a stainless steel face ring. It is a traditional wet-niche fixture: a stainless steel shell, an 8-3/8 inch prismatic tempered glass lens that spreads light evenly across the pool, and a uni-tension clamp on the face ring that holds the assembly in the niche. The lamp can be changed without lowering the water level, which is one of the reasons the Amerlite has stayed in service on so many pools.

This is a white-light fixture. The 12V / 100W Amerlite uses an R-20 incandescent lamp (Pentair's owner's manual reserves the larger R-40 lamp for the 300W to 500W models), and because it is a low-voltage luminaire Pentair requires it to be fed through a separate 12 VAC safety isolation transformer, which is not included. A heat-sensing low-water cutoff protects the fixture if the water level drops below the lens.

The Amerlite is UL Listed for installation in full-size Pentair, American Products, PacFab and Purex niches, and like all Pentair UL Listed underwater lights it is certified for fresh water with up to 6,000 ppm salinity. Optional snap-on colored lens covers (blue, red, green, amber) and plastic snap-on face rings are available separately if you want to change the look without changing the fixture.

One thing to be aware of before ordering: Pentair notes on its Amerlite product page that the 100W and 300W Amerlite incandescent lights are now obsolete under U.S. Department of Energy regulations and have been removed from its current specification grid. Confirm availability with us before planning an installation around this exact part number.
