The Hayward W3HP50HA2 HeatPro Pool Heat Pump delivers 50,000 BTU of reversible heating and cooling in a low-profile horizontal-fan cabinet that works on both above-ground and in-ground pools.
The horizontal layout is the point: at 25.6 inches tall and under 18 inches wide, it tucks into spaces a conventional vertical-discharge heat pump cannot. Active defrost keeps it producing heat in cool ambient conditions down to 40 F, and a multi-speed ECM fan motor keeps sound and power draw down at partial load.
A titanium heat exchanger handles salt water and chlorinated water without corrosion, and Hayward's Ultra Gold evaporator coil coating resists the coil degradation that shortens heat pump life in coastal and humid climates. It runs on 208-230V with a 35 A maximum breaker.
