The Hayward W3HP21405T HeatPro Pool Heat Pump delivers 140,000 BTU of heat-only capacity for in-ground pools, built around a genuinely different piece of engineering: an industry-first microchannel (MCHX) condenser.
Traditional heat pumps use tube-and-fin coils held together by hundreds of brazed joints - every one of them a potential leak point and a place for corrosion to start. The microchannel design cuts brazed joints by 85% and drops the unit weight by up to 50 lbs compared with tube-and-fin equivalents.
The coil carries a TCP coating originally developed by Naval Air Command for corrosion resistance in salt-air environments - a meaningful advantage for coastal installations where standard coils degrade quickly. The unit operates in ambient temperatures down to 40 F and plumbs in through 2" PVC unions.
