The Hayward Universal CrystaLogic 2.0 LPLUS22050 is a white LED pool light on 12-15 volts with a 50-foot cord and thermoplastic trim. Hayward rates it at 3300 lumens and 37 watts, and it is the lower-output member of the CrystaLogic 2.0 pool family – the 54-watt, 4900-lumen version is the LPWUS series. It is a single-color white fixture with no shows or color electronics.
Like the ColorLogic version, the Universal CrystaLogic is stated by Hayward to be UL listed to retrofit virtually all existing manufacturers' niches, which makes it a straightforward LED upgrade for an old incandescent pool light in a Pentair, Jandy or Hayward niche. Its targeted light distribution prevents glare from above, the electronics are totally encapsulated for durability, and Hayward's adjustable lower catch simplifies installation where plaster thickness varies. Hayward states it can be installed as close as 4 inches from the waterline, upward facing.
The fixture is not OmniDirect compatible – it is switched on and off from a standard circuit or a relay on an automation system. As a 12-15 volt light it requires a suitable low-voltage transformer, which is not included. Warranty is three years on parts and one year on labor, extended when purchased through a Hayward Rewards partner.
