The AquaCal SQ140ARDSBPA HeatWave SuperQuiet Pool Heat Pump delivers 114,000 BTU at a COP of 5.7, with both heating and cooling from a single reversible unit.
The defining feature is ICEBREAKER hot gas defrost. Conventional heat pumps stop producing heat when they ice up and shed the accumulated warmth to clear the coil. ICEBREAKER instead routes hot refrigerant gas to melt frost, which lets the unit keep heating at near-freezing ambient temperatures and extends the usable season well past what a standard heat pump manages.
AquaCal's patented ThermoLink titanium heat exchanger is unaffected by salt or aggressive pool chemistry. The unit is PoolSync WiFi ready with built-in smart microprocessor controls and an LCD display, and it draws 4.6 kW with a 38.5 A minimum circuit ampacity on a 60 A fuse.
